Dale Walsh was diagnosed with schizophrenia after a successful freshman year at Dartmouth College in 1975. He has transformed his mental health journey into a coaching business for the “forgotten victims” of the illness: the caregivers and family members of those diagnosed with schizophrenia. After a period of “revolving door” hospitalizations until 1993, he has been episode-free for 28 years. He has had his own unsupervised apartment for more than four decades and am a dedicated author and Poet with an archive of six novels and more than 4,000 poems.
A magna cum laude graduate in English of Fairleigh Dickinson University, he was a private tutor of FDU students for ten years after graduation. He devised the LIVELOVE (Learn-Integrate-Validate-Explore Listen-Observe-Value-Express) Method to approach the challenges faced by clients, from where comes the name of his company, DEWLiveLove, whose motto is “Recovery is Always an Option“. He believes deeply in those words based upon his own experiences and conveys that sentiment to clients, to give them hope in the face of the chaos often created by this very challenging disease.
