On Friday, James Prescott joined Moments of Clarity to speak about anxiety and mental health topics. James is an author, blogger and host of the Poema Podcast, which explores the spiritual journey, mental health, grief & creativity. His book ‘Mosaic of Grace’ was published in 2017.
During the show James shared about having his own low point in life that led to growth and his spiritual development. James has a successful podcast and is a motivational speaker and he has been able to help others because of the experiences he has gone through.
James shares openly about being on his own and feeling lonely, especially during a pandemic. He discusses how he uses self-care practices that can manage these situations. Journaling is one daily practice that helps James with his emotional anxieties. Sometimes feelings of abandonment and grief can be much like a wound that can trigger anxiety. James explains you have to do work on this wound, and often, so that you don’t have a spiraling episode.
